APPLICATION & ELIGIBILITY
Q: When is the application for 2026?
A: 1 February - 05 April 2026
Q: I am completing my undergraduate degree and will graduate soon. Can I apply now?
A: Yes, students who will officially graduate before August 2025 can apply for the 2026 academic year.
Q: Do I have to submit any hard copy documents to the program?
A: No, all documents should be submitted online.
Q: My previous degree is not in International Development. Can I apply?
A: Yes, MAIDS-GRID is open to applicants of all academic backgrounds.
Q: I graduated from the program that is taught in English. Will I be exempt from submitting the English Test Score?
A: Only graduates from a university that is certified by Thailand’s OCSC (Officer of the Civil Service Commission) can be exempted. Please get in touch with us to check whether your university is certified. If you are applying for the ASEAN non-ASEAN scholarship, you must submit a valid English test score, irrespective of your previous university.
SCHOLARSHIPS
Q: How should I submit the scholarship application and documents?
A: Submit along with the program application. Your application will be submitted to the scholarship office after you are successfully accepted into the program.
Q: Is there a full scholarship at MAIDS-GRID?
A: Yes, the HBS provides full scholarships. Also, the ASEAN/ non-ASEAN scholarship combined with MGAP amounts to a full scholarship.
Q: Is the ASEAN/Non-ASEAN scholarship a full scholarship? What it does not cover?
A: No, the ASEAN/Non-ASEAN Scholarship is not a full scholarship.
It will cover the recipient’s University tuition fee (THB 24,500 per trimester) and will provide a monthly stipend (THB 16,000 per month) during the time the recipient living in Thailand.
The scholarship does not cover the international fee (THB 60,700 per trimester) and the registration fee (THB 65,000 per trimester). Students will have to pay these fees by themselves.
STUDYING AND COURSES
Q: Does MAIDS-GRID offer a distance learning/ online option?
A. MAIDS is an on-site only program. For GRID, students are required to be based in Bangkok for the first year of the program.
Q: Is there a part-time track for MAIDS-GRID?
A: MAIDS and GRID are full time programs only.
Q: When are classes taught?
A: Classes are taught during daytime on weekdays. Occasionally, activities such as fieldtrips may take place during the weekends. We do not teach classes in the evenings.
Q: What are the available programme at Sophia University for MA DDP?
A: There are 3 programme for MA DDP student to choose to apply at Sophia: MA in Global Studies, MA in Japanese Studies, and MA in International Business and Developmental Studies. Details of the mentioned programme can be found here.
