Scholarships Available for 2019 Intake:

Please note that all scholarships are for partial funding. To increase your chances of receiving full funding, please note the suggestions on which scholarships to combine. When combining scholarships, you must be eligible and apply for each one separately. Please contact applications.maids@gmail.com with any further questions.


MA Students:

H.M. the King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s 72nd Birthday Anniversary Scholarship + Top Up Scholarship

55 Available Across all Faculties // Deadlines: Round 1 = March 29;

Covers 23,000 THB of University Tuition per trimester + provision of:

  • Monthly stipend of 10,500 THB

  • Roundtrip Transportation for ASEAN Student

  • Partial accommodation expenses

  • Research Expenses

Can be combined with: MGap Scholarship or HuaQiao Foundation Scholarship


HuaQiao Foundation Scholarship

1 Available for MAIDS Applicant from ASEAN Country // Deadline: April 30

Covers 65,000 THB Registration Fee per trimester & 57,000 THB of University Tuition per trimester (Int’l students) + provision of:

  • Reimbursement of Application Fee (800 THB)

  • Field Trip Fee (15,000 THB)

  • Additional Provisions as deemed necessary (i.e. pre-session fee, etc)

MUST be combined with: H.M. the King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s 72nd Birthday Anniversary Scholarship


Heinrich Boll Stiftung Scholarship for Myanmar Student

1 Available for MAIDS Applicant from Myanmar // Deadline: April 30

Covers 145,000 THB Tuition Fees per trimester + provision of:

  • Monthly stipend of 18,000 THB

  • Reimbursement of Application Fee (800 THB)

  • One roundtrip flight (up to 10,000 THB)

  • Visa Fees, Books and Materials

  • Research Expenses

  • Additional Provisions as deemed necessary (i.e. pre-session fee, etc)

Covers 65,000 THB Registration Fee per trimester

The 100th Anniversary Chulalongkorn University Fund for Doctoral Scholarship + Top Up Scholarship

100 Available Across all Faculties // Deadlines: Round 1 = March 29

Covers 23,000 THB of University Tuition per trimester + provision of:

  • Monthly stipend of 10,500 THB

  • Roundtrip Transportation for ASEAN Student

  • Partial accommodation expenses

  • Research expenses

Can be combined with: MGap Scholarship

English Proficiency Exam Requirements:

Please note that most scholarships will require an English Proficiency Exam result (IELTS, TOEFL, or CU-TEP). If you have been exempt from submitting such score in application to the MAIDS-GRID program, unfortunately that exemption does not guarantee eligibility for scholarship applications.

Please check individual scholarship requirements carefully - we recommend registering for an English Exam as soon as possible in order to ensure your eligibility to apply for funding.
