    1) your most valued experience or accomplishment;

    2) your research interests including an outline of a tentative topic for your thesis/dissertation;

    4) how the MAIDS-GRID Program at Chulalongkorn University will help you achieve these goals.

  5. Writing Sample: (save as: 5-surname.pdf)

    The MAIDS-GRID program requires all applicants to submit a sample of their critical or analytical writing.

    This may be a paper written for an undergraduate course, a published academic or journalistic article, or another appropriate writing sample.

    Applicants should briefly explain – using a separate document – the context in which the sample was originally written, including information on the nature of the publication in which it appeared, and the date of publication.

    The objective of the sample writing is to assess the applicants’ analytical and writing skills. The ability to write clearly in English – both for native and non-native speakers – is essential to fulfill the written requirements for the MA thesis and PhD Dissertation.

  6. Research Proposal (PhD Applicants): (save as: 6-surname.pdf)

    Applicants should present their research proposal on the topic that they plan to further develop into their dissertation. The PhD Program emphasizes the ability of applicants in mastering their research methods and content so that they can graduate as a professional development specialist.

  • How is the applicant known to you?

  • How long have you known the applicant?

  • Has the applicant discussed his/her motivation for undertaking the MA in International Development Studies with you?

  • How well do you know the applicant’s academic work?

  • In your opinion how well does the applicant’s studies/professional experience to date equip him or her to follow the MAIDS programme? 

  • You may wish to provide specific comment on the applicant’s qualities: analytical skill, communication skill, motivation, etc.
